These events highlighted Peru’s culture, values, and national identity. As part of the government’s decentralization efforts, a naturalization ceremony was held for the first time in the city of Chimbote. The new citizens fulfilled the strict requirements and procedures established under Peruvian immigration law in order to obtain their Certificate of Peruvian Nationality. This document will later allow them to apply for the National Identity Document (DNI) and exercise their constitutional rights and obligations. “The sense of belonging to Peru goes beyond laws, regulations, and procedures; it is a feeling. Our appreciation for Peru’s flag, national symbols, culture, history, gastronomy, and territory makes us increasingly Peruvian,” stated Superintendent Alberto Balladares, encouraging the new citizens to continue valuing and respecting Peru. The new citizens obtained Peruvian nationality after being married to Peruvian nationals for more than two years, as well as through naturalization, which is granted to foreign nationals who, without family or marital ties to a Peruvian citizen, choose to build their personal and professional lives in the country. In addition, some individuals recovered their Peruvian nationality, while adult children of foreign nationals born abroad, who have resided in Peru since the age of five, also received their Certificates of Nationality.

[110
68
post-7935","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-immigration","tag-peru
["GET
