Mexico: U.S. Embassy Moves to a New Location
Through a post on X (formerly Twitter), the U.S. Embassy announced that, effective November 24, 2025, all consular services related to visas (including nonimmigrant visas), passports, citizenship, and notarial services will be provided at its new facilities in Mexico City.

According to the diplomatic mission, the new headquarters is designed to provide safer, more modern, and more efficient services for both U.S. citizens and visa applicants.
Recommendations for Visitors
- Electronic devices are not permitted, including mobile phones, tablets, headphones, and smartwatches.
- Liquids are also prohibited.
- There will be no storage service available for personal belongings, so visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly to avoid delays or the loss of their appointment.
Important Information for Individuals with Existing Appointments
The Embassy clarified that individuals with appointments scheduled on or after November 24 do not need to complete any additional procedures.
“Your existing appointment remains valid. Even if you have not received updated instructions, you should report to the new location at Legaria and Casa de la Moneda,” the Embassy stated in its announcement.
