Venezuela: Appointment of New SAIME Authority and Outlook for Migration Management
The National Executive has appointed Hendrick Perdomo Colmenares as the new Director General of the Administrative Service of Identification, Migration and Foreigners (SAIME), as established in Official Gazette No. 7,016 Extraordinary.
Perdomo, who previously held roles as Vice Minister of Trade Monitoring and Control and Director of SAPI, assumes the position at a key moment for the restructuring of identification services in the country.
For the relocation and labor migration sectors, this leadership change raises expectations regarding continuity and optimization in key processes such as passport issuance, document extensions, and visa management for foreign nationals.
The modernization of the technological platform and the streamlining of administrative procedures remain priorities within the institutional agenda, with the aim of facilitating mobility and ensuring regulatory compliance for multinational companies operating in Venezuela.
